Biblioteca Municipal José Soares

Inaugurated in November 2008, the Municipal Library is characterized by its architectural sobriety. It has a wide versatility, based on the differentiation of functions and spaces with specific audiences.

It has a Bebéteca (an active learning space for babies and children from 0 to 3 years), Bedeteca (a space dedicated to comics), a film library and a music library, a planetarium and an auditorium, among other services.

A local Fund about Nazaré, a Fund about the Sciences of the Sea, books in Braille and audiobooks are also available to the readers.

The library develops a wide range of activities through its cultural program such as temporary exhibitions, conferences, meetings with writers, storytelling, puppetry, workshops, and literary discussions, among others.
