Deer Statue

The Deer statue is a six meters tall and 10 tons anthropomorphic work by Agostinho Pires, executed by the sculptress Adália Aberto - offered to the Municipality of Nazaré; it is installed on the access road to S. Miguel Arcanjo Fort (Lighthouse), since November 2016.

The statue of a deer-headed surfer alludes to the miracle of Our Lady of Nazaré, while honouring the courage of surfers to face the giant waves of Praia do Norte.
