Parque da Pedralva
Around 1930, hundreds of tourists and bathers were arriving to Nazaré, therefore a Committee decided that the town needed a green park at the White Hill (Monte Branco); a place where people could admire the views, the charming beach and surroundings, and relax.
So a beautiful wooded park with a lake, walking paths and a tennis court was built. Presently we have a pleasant garden with some leisure infrastructures.
From its highest point you can admire one of the most beautiful panoramic views over the village.
The name Pedralva or White Hill comes from the white clay that characterizes this rocky formation.
Walking through the park it is possible to discover a lovely set of stone benches covered with azulejos from the early days of this garden. This rocky outcrop, known as Pedralva or Monte Branco, is located in the eastern part of Nazaré and composed of white clay that eventually characterized the rock and is reflected in the name of this elevation.
