Monument to the Castaway

The work, inspired by the motif “The Castaway”, took part in the Porto Fine Arts Exhibition where it deserved the highest appreciation.

The work by the sculptor Manuel Lopes, disciple of Master Barata Feio, was offered to Nazaré.

The sculpture was placed in the Fisherman's Quarter, at the end of C Street, in March 1958.

It is currently located next to the main facade of the Cultural Centre of Nazaré.
