Big Wave Mural

Erick Wilson, a Brazilian surfer, diver and artist, in October 2016, portrayed the giant waves of Nazaré on the Mural of Ladeira do Sítio (cobblestone staircase), in a 300m2 area.

The scenery is a tribute to nature and to the power of the big waves of Praia do Norte by the project “Gigantes do Mar” (Giants of the Sea). Created by the artist with the objective of painting 80 murals around the world, depicting marine animals in their real size, it has, among its purposes, to express and inform about the importance of maintaining and preserving marine life.
