Cine Teatro Nazaré, 2450-267 Nazaré
Nazaré will host the first edition of the Nazaré Creative Film Fest on January 14th and 15th, an event dedicated to independent cinema and co-production projects, where creativity and artistic freedom will be in focus.
Giving visibility to emerging and established directors who explore new cinematic languages, challenge narrative conventions, and present original, auteur-driven proposals are the main objectives of this two-day festival.
This cultural experience, which values the authenticity of the works and the power of the ideas, will be presented with two films premiering nationally, already distinguished at other international festivals and whose directors reside in Nazaré.
The 24th Mr. Phipps, a psychological thriller that follows the story of Holden, a man seeking expanded consciousness who, decades later, awakens in an abandoned and unsettling space, will mark the event's premiere on January 14th at 7 PM. This film explores themes such as loneliness, the limits of the human mind, and the ghosts of the past.
The following day, January 15th, the film "E", directed by Anna Eriksson, will be screened. It powerfully and critically addresses the disconnection of human beings from themselves and others. The entire narrative follows Eva Vogler, a former prime minister who, after a public scandal, finds herself confronted by her stunt double and other symbolic figures in a universe that reflects the anxieties of the postmodern era.
Both films will be shown at 7 PM at the Cinema of Nazaré. The screenings are in English and without subtitles.
