A Quinta do Campo, implantada nos campos agrícolas do Valado dos Frades foi uma das dez granjas agrícolas a ser fundada pelos Monges de Cister durante o período da construção do Mosteiro de Alcobaça, no século XIII.
With a total of 8 hectares of land (for cultivation and gardens) plus 2 hectares of area built between the 12th and 19th centuries, it is the only farm in the country classified as a Property of National Public Interest (2003), “The only example in Portugal of the medieval architecture of the Cister farms, in excellent condition. The best preserved specimen in the entire Iberian Peninsula ”.
